Nineteen point five inches

That's the measurement in the depths of our backyard. Apparently this is the second heaviest snowfall in NYC's history, although I feel as though I've seen worse than this a few times.

UPDATE: It's now the heaviest snowfall ever to hit NYC.

That's only 19.5 more inches than we got down here in North carolina. ;-)

I love that picture! I had no idea until I read your post that NY got so much more than we did here in MD. Ria and I had a lovely 5-mile walk to our favorite woodsy park, and an epic snowball battle.

I love your blog - it's one of the high points in my day. If there's a word I'd choose to sum up your attitude, it's "life-affirming" (or maybe that's technically two words?)

And just so you know, RSS is what makes me sure I stay current - every time I open Safari a glance shows me if there's a new post.

May I just say how much joy it brings me that in the midst of your wife's chemo treatments and all the rest of your life that is really hard and a pain in the ass you are going out and measuring record snow fall in your back yard with the glee of a 10 year-old?!!

:)

Hi, guys - Jody, I had Herceptin for a year and they started out doing MUGAs every three months, but then we switched to Echos. My cardiologist prefers them, and they were much less expensive and invasive. (No radioactive injections, easier to get the right angles on the heart around the implant, etc.) Keep checking your LVF!

I also had Taxotere, but with the Adria and Cytoxan. I have no idea which side effects were due to what! As far as I could tell, I had no side effects from the Herceptin.

You have my sympathies on the steroid prep as well. I was just thinking the other day that if I have to do chemo again, I might try to skip the steroid part.

Hugs,
Hope Murtaugh

P.S. - It was nice to see a picture of you, Zach! My boys are very envious of the snow, especially since we were on Long Island last weekend and missed getting snowed in.
