36 Hours to Go

We got the call this evening: Monday is going to be egg-retrieval day. Hooray!

Zach (or as I now call him, the Sperminator) and I are absolutely thrilled.

After tonight, NO MORE SHOTS!

After tomorrow, NO MORE DAILY BLOODWORK AND PELVIC ULTRASOUNDS!

After Monday, NO MORE EARLY-MORNING COMMUTES!

The last shot, of Ovidrel, given at precisely 11:20PM tonight, sets us up for retrieval exactly 36 hours later. Sometime on Tuesday, we'll get a call telling us the results: how many eggs were retrieved, how many were fertilized, and how many embryos were frozen.

So root for us on Monday—for lots of healthy, mature eggs and lots of microscopic Olympians on our 101-million-strong swim team.

Of course the last installment of your blog that I read before I am able to return is January 13th, the day before your HUGE news! Glad the shots and other discomforts are behind you. I will be thinking of you both tomorrow and rooting for team Jody and Zach and the 101 million Olympians. Though rather than swimming this time of year, wouldn't they be luging?
PS- Your loo looks absolutely looverly!

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a huge harvest!! You're probably there as I type this. Hope y'all took the subway (nearly said "metro" -- whoops) or that Zach found parking without running afoul of NYC's finest.

I'm coming up to NYC the weekend of Feb. 28th. Hope I get to see you then.

Cheers,
Gerri
